Connecting your personal schedule with Google Calendar or Outloook Calendar is quite easy. Simply navigate to the “My Schedule” page from the Schedules section, and from the “Sync” button in the top right corner select one of the external calendars you wish to sync with.
These synchronizations cover personal schedules only. If you’re a supervisor or an administrator and you try to connect with one of these external calendars, please note that the system will synchronize your personal schedule only.
If you use Gmail or other Google services, then you might be a fan of Google Calendar as well. Ximble integrates your schedule easily and simply with Google Calendar. All you need to do is select “Google Calendar” from the “Sync” menu. Once you do that, the system will take you to the Google/Gmail login page, if you’re not logged in already, and then to the confirmation page, where you can approve this sync.
When you approve it, the system will take you back to your schedule. From that point, you’ll have a new calendar entry on your Google Calendar, called ‘Ximble’. You’ll have all your newly published shifts show up automatically on your Google Calendar. All the past shifts will show up only if your supervisor re-publishes them, while all the newly added shifts will show up immediately on your Google Calendar.
If you use Microsoft Office tools on a daily basis, and you check your Outlook Calendar regularly, then you can easily connect your personal schedule from Ximble to your Outlook Calendar. From the “Sync” menu mentioned at the beginning of this article, simply click on “MS Outlook”. The system will display a menu with multiple programs on your computer that can open the calendar file so make sure to select your Microsoft Outlook. Once you do that, your Outlook will have a new calendar added, labeled as ‘Ximble’, which will display your personal schedule.
Please note that this synchronization is one way only. If you remove a shift from your Outlook or Google Calendar, information will not be sent back to Ximble, and your shift WILL remain on your schedule officially. In case you need to be removed from your shift, please use one of the available requests to trade, drop or find a replacement for your shift. Of course, communicating with your supervisor directly is also an option.
