This article covers management of shift trade requests. If you are an employee and you want to learn how to initiate shift trade requests, please click here.
Provided that shift trades are enabled in the configuration section, then you, as a supervisor, will be able to manage your employees’ shift trade requests. The settings section also allows automated shift trades, in which case, a supervisor doesn't need to approve a shift trade request if both employees agreed to trade shifts. By default, this option is disabled, so all shift trade requests will come to supervisors for their approval.
In the screenshot below you can see some examples of shift trade requests:
While reviewing pending requests, you can view shift information and make a decision on whether you want to approve a request or reject it. By using the icons on the right, you can approve or reject each pending request.
To approve a request, click on the check-mark icon, shown in the screenshot below:
To reject a request, click on the “X” icon next to it:
Once you approve a shift trade request, the system will automatically swap the shifts on the schedule and your employees will be notified that their request to trade shifts was approved. There’s nothing you need to do manually at that point, since the system will handle everything automatically.
If you decide to reject a shift trade request, then your employees will be notified that their request to trade shifts was not approved.
