In this video we will cover two different methods by which admins and supervisors can monitor and restrict their workforce to only specific locations for clocking in and out purposes.
The first method is reviewing GPS stamps. If an employer has allowed the usage of mobile devices in the system, every time an employee uses a mobile device to clock in or out, the system will capture the GPS coordinates of the location. Managers can review these locations by navigating to the “Time Clock” section and choosing the “Timesheet” option from the drop down in the upper right corner. Time clock entries from mobile devices will have the red GPS pins attached to their entries. The Geo Fences option allows employers to restrict clocking in and out from only specific areas or locations. To set up a Geo Fence we will navigate to the “Settings” section and from the “Timesheet” tab we will select the “Geo Fences” option.
First we will add the address for the location we wish to create a geo fence around and choose a name for this setting. We can set a custom radius around this point or create a geo fence manually by clicking on the “Draw Fence” option. By clicking on different points around our location the system will mark a custom geo fence area. We can save this geo fence in draft mode or activate it immediately.
Once we save our settings, employees won't be able to clock in or out outside the selected area.
